Julep x Babylonstoren Valentine's Collaboration
Nic RossleeOn one of our first days in the Julep studio this year, an email landed from Babylonstoren's Alicia Bekker. She was wondering if we might be interested in collaborating on something for Valentine’s Day, and we were tempted to say yes before we’d finished reading.
The next day we were on a call, talking through what a collaboration might look like in practice. It was immediately clear to us that we were dealing with a team with a strong vision, and also an appreciation for what we brought to the table.
Six years into our Julep journey, this Valentine’s collaboration became our most successful partnership by volume. But volume can exhaust you. On the other side of Valentine's Day Julia Rosslee and I were grateful to be feeling as energised as ever.
When we debriefed with the Babylonstoren team the following week it confirmed that the feeling was mutual. We immediately started talking about working together for Mother’s Day, and how we could make it better.
Brand alignment doesn’t happen without people. Alicia, Daniela and Heike led with a genuine desire to put out a great product and cared about all the little details.
Our flowers are going to be in a few Babylonstoren Mother's Day hampers. Look out for their posts and emails!
