Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver across Johannesburg, Midrand, Centurion, Pretoria and Cape Town. For specific suburbs, check our delivery information page. Not sure if you're covered? Email us at hello@julep.co.za and we'll confirm.

When do you deliver?

We deliver Monday to Friday, between 13:00 and 16:00. We deliver in the afternoon because we source our flowers fresh every morning.

Can I get same-day delivery?

Yes, please order before 10:00 for same-day delivery. On busier days we may sell out of flowers, in which case same-day ordering can close earlier than 10:00.

How much does delivery cost?

R80 for Johannesburg and Cape Town, R100 for Centurion and Pretoria.

How are my flowers delivered?

To keep our flowers in the best possible condition, we work mostly with direct, on-demand couriers, getting your flowers to you as quickly and directly as possible.

How do the flowers arrive?

Flat-packed, top-to-tail, in our signature Julep box, without water. Some flowers arrive still in bud, so they open beautifully over the next few days rather than all at once. Your flowers may also look a little sleepy after travelling but this is normal, a fresh cut and clean water should bring them round within hours.

What if I can't put them in water straight away?

No problem, we only choose flowers that can comfortably last a few hours in the box. When you're ready, give each stem a sharp, angled cut 2–3cm from the end (avoid blunt scissors — crushed stems won't absorb water), then place them in a clean vase filled two-thirds with cool water and the flower food sachet provided.

How do I arrange my flowers?

There's no right or wrong way. We find it easiest to place the foliage first, crisscrossing the stems in the vase, then the larger flowers, then the smaller, more delicate blooms — aiming for a mix of colour, texture and stem height as you go. Once arranged, keep your flowers in a cool spot with soft light, away from heat and fresh fruit, and trim the stems and refresh the water every couple of days to keep them at their best.

What if no one's there to receive the delivery?

It's your responsibility to make sure someone can receive your Julep box on the afternoon of delivery. If not, we'll do our best to contact you and arrange an alternative, which may result in an additional delivery fee. If our courier needs to leave the box at the door or with a doorman, it's sturdy enough to hold up well, but we can't be responsible for its condition in these circumstances.

What's your returns and refunds policy?

Because our flowers are perishable, they can't be returned. But if your order arrives damaged and the fault is ours, we'll replace or refund it. Full details are in our terms and conditions.
