1. About these blooms
How are they packaged?
Our flowers arrive flat-packed, top-to-tail, in our signature Julep box without water. Some flowers may still be closed or ‘in bud’ on arrival. They’re timed to open over a few days, so that you can enjoy them for longer. Your flowers may look a little sleepy after travelling, this is normal. A fresh cut and clean water brings them round within hours.
Do they come with a vase?
Our flowers do not come with a vase. You can add one to your order at checkout, or use any clean vase you have at home.
How do I care for them?
Give each stem a sharp, angled cut 2–3cm from the end (avoid blunt scissors as crushed stems won't absorb water). Place them in a clean vase filled two-thirds with cool water and add the flower food sachet provided. Replace with fresh water every two or three days.
2. Your Gift Card & Personalisation
Can I add a message?
Absolutely. Write a free gift message before you add your product to your cart. It goes on the card inside the box.
Can I add a photo to my gift card?
Yes, and this is our favourite part. You can upload a custom photo that we'll print on a premium glossy card. We will include your photo alongside the gift message you have provided. We put a lot of effort into our cards as we believe that Julep is here to help you say something.
Will the recipient know how much I spent?
Never. We don't include pricing, receipts, or invoices. Only your gift card and flower care instructions.
3. Delivery & Timing
When and where do you deliver?
We deliver Monday to Friday between 13:00 and 16:00 in suburbs within Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town (R80–R100 delivery fee). We don't service the Cape Winelands or beyond (Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek) or outlying Gauteng areas (Krugersdorp, Vereeniging, Vanderbijlpark, Heidelberg, Randfontein, Hartebeespoort, Springs, Rayton, Bronkhorstspruit, and Pretoria Rural).
Order before 10:00 for same-day delivery. If you're unsure about your area, check our delivery information or reach out to hello@julep.co.za.
What if no one's home for delivery?
Please make sure someone is available during afternoon delivery hours (13:00–16:00). If no one is home, our courier will contact you/the recipient or safely leave the box with security or a doorman.
What if my preferred delivery date isn't available?
In rare circumstances, we close same-day orders before 10:00 if we're at capacity. We also don't operate on weekends or public holidays. If your preferred date isn't showing, the next available delivery day will appear in the calendar. Please get in touch at hello@julep.co.za if this doesn’t make sense and we'll see what we can do.
4. Our Guarantee
We commit to take great care in preparing and delivering your order. We deliver flowers in bud so they bloom in your home over 24 to 48 hours. With basic care, they last at least 5 days, guaranteed. If they don't, please let us know and we will resend.
